Remarkable Portraits Made with a Single Sewing Thread Wrapped through Nails by Kumi Yamashita

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Extremely talented New York artist Kumi Yamashita emabarked on a an ongoing series of portraits titled Constellation.  Each image is constructed from a single unbroken black thread wound through a dense array of galvanized nails mounted on a painted white board, meaning that the darker areas within the portrait are formed solely from the density of the string.

I enjoy seeing intricate works of art such as these. Imagine the time and care it took to conceptualize and bring these portraits to life.

All everything in life really requires is Pressure and Time to accomplish something phenomenal.

An Outdooor Library in the middle of a Vineyard

If you just so happened to be walking past it would take an incredible amount of restraint to not be tempted to pick a book and enjoy a glass wine while sitting on the grass. This outdoor library entitled Bookyard was installed in the middle of a vineyard in Belgium. The nearby residents must have been extremely thrilled to see this idea take shape in their neighbourhood.

Sometimes all it takes is for two ideas to collide to create something refreshingly beautiful.

Light Up Your Memories – Illuminated Drawing Pins

Light Up Your Memories is an awesome way of illuminating your pictures at night. They provide the perfect ambient effect for pictures and notes.

Here is how it works, “Along with the light-up pins, the system incorporates a pin-up board of insulating cork, aluminium, and acrylic (for ease of use mounting). The sandwiched aluminium panel is charged with an electric current, which lights up the drawing pin when contact is made. Only the pin’s stem is able to conduct electricity; its head is non-conducting. A switch on the board controls power provision and intensity.
